Brooklyn Botanic Garden 2003 Annual Report

Continuing Education

The Garden's Continuing Education department offered 197 classes and day trips and reached 2,623 students. New classes added this year included "Vegetable Papyrus," in which students created translucent "paper" from vegetables and fruits, and "Organic Gardening for the Fall."

The June symposium "Roses for Every Garden and Season," attended by close to 90 participants, offered a comprehensive look at the history of roses and what's new on the horizon, as well as practical lessons on how to design with roses and care for them in a home garden setting.
