Be a Part of BBG's Centennial Celebration Exhibit!

100 Years, 100 Stories

During the summer of 2010, Brooklyn Botanic Garden will offer a special Garden-wide exhibit to celebrate its centennial. The exhibit will showcase the Garden's history, collections, and important achievements, as well as more personal stories from members, volunteers, visitors, colleagues, and staff. Elements of the exhibit will be presented throughout the Garden and on the BBG website, with a special selection of images on display in the Steinhardt Conservatory Gallery. We invite you to participate in this project by sharing your best photos and memories of your history with BBG.

So dust off your photo albums, dig through those old shoe boxes, and check your hard drive for images and items that capture your most memorable Garden moments!

Here's how to contribute your memories:

Upload your favorite three digital images to the appropriate Flickr group (see below) and share a description of the special memory each represents. You need to be a member of Flickr to use this service. (Basic membership is free.) The BBG Stories groups on the internet will be a great place to see other memories that our staff, visitors, and volunteers have shared.

The images should be the largest size possible (preferably 300 dpi or 1600 × 1200 pixels). Please include a story with your image (maximum 150 words)—we want to know the heartwarming memories behind your pictures!

Please note that by posting your photo in these public groups, you and the other subjects are providing consent for the image to be shared online and used for the exhibits. You will be notified if your submissions are selected for the BBG centennial exhibit.

The deadline for submissions is November 30, 2009.
