Brooklyn, NY—May 20, 2008—Did you ever see something so magical and beautiful and other-worldly that it caused you to speak in awestruck, hushed tones? The Bluebell Wood plant collection at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) is in now in bloom; enchanting visitors of all ages. In May, Bluebell Wood is an expanse of dreamy blue periwinkle blossoms as 45,000 Spanish bluebells (Hyacinthoides hispanica 'Excelsior') reach their peak bloom. Surrounded by a mature stand of oak, birch, and beech trees just south of Cherry Esplanade, Bluebell Wood creates a unique and exquisite woodland display that is a highlight of the season.
