This is a special press opportunity to preview New York's Rite of Spring: Sakura Matsuri, now in its 27th year. See over 220 magnificent blooming cherry trees as part of nature's "performance art," and experience a sneak peek from the close to sixty special events scheduled for the May 3 and 4 Sakura Matsuri weekend festival. Events include musical and dance performances, demonstrations, workshops, exhibits, and guided tours, all honoring the cultural traditions of Japan and BBG's unparalleled collection of cherry trees. The press day will feature interview opportunities with Brooklyn Botanic Garden expert executives from Horticulture and Public Programs, plus excerpted performances and demonstrations by featured performers at Sakura Matsuri—including musicians, martial artists, dancers and more, all against the Garden's breathtaking show of blossoms.
