Daniel Ryniec

Born in Boston and raised in Buffalo, Daniel worked at BBG from 1977 to 2012. In 1981 he became the curator of the Osborne Garden as well as the Lilac Collection. As the chief steward of the Osborne Garden, Daniel oversaw construction and restoration projects. With the goal of creating a picturesque view from many spots within the collection, Daniel created a lush and inviting formal entrance to BBG. Dan has served as President of the International Lilac Society and wrote several articles on plants and gardening for publications including The New York Times. Daniel also spends time as a garden consultant and enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise with other botanic institutions, especially Skylands, the New Jersey Botanical Garden.
