I woke up this morning with the sun rising outside of one window and Misima Island out the other window. The water was very calm for our voyage, so I easily slept through the night in my top bunk. We spent the day on the privately owned land of a former student of Bob’s just outside the main port of Bwagoia, and were able to collect several members of the cashew family, including two semecarpus species.
[Editor's note: During the team's three weeks of remote fieldwork, Dr. Pell is sending posts by satellite phone. BBG staff are transcribing them for this blog. Reception was spotty at first, but it provided for some unique audio, so we thought we'd share what a satellite call from PNG sounds like.]
Listen to Dr. Pell’s satellite phone call.
