The Papua New Guinea blog struck a chord with many people and led to a great deal of interest and numerous questions about botanical fieldwork. In
response, we decided to expand this formerly location-specific blog into a general fieldwork blog for the whole BBG Science Department.
In the coming year, we will be collecting plants in the NYC metropolitan area, the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, the wilds of New England, and the Costa Rican
tropical dry forest. BBG botanists will blog about our current US and international field expeditions, including tweets from the field, photographs of interesting places and organisms, new discoveries, and reflections on dealing with the locals (from scorpions in Costa Rica to speed traps in the Catskills). Director of science, Dr. Gerry Moore, and I are heading to Costa Rica very soon so stay tuned for more notes from the field!

Thats very good to know… thanks
