Dr. Susan Pell is the molecular plant systematist and laboratory manager at BBG. In this position, she oversees the Garden’s laboratories and conducts her own research in pantropical floristics and the molecular systematics, nomenclature, and taxonomy of the cashew family (Anacardiaceae). This research has led her on numerous international field expeditions to countries including Australia, Costa Rica, Gabon, Peru, Madagascar, and Papua New Guinea. Dr. Pell holds a PhD in plant biology from Louisiana State University.
