About Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula'
Often called weeping higan cherries, there are several Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula' trees in BBG's collection that produce delicate blossoms in colors ranging from nearly white to pale pink. Seeds of the weeping variety were brought from Japan around 1862 by plant hunter Philipp Franz von Siebold.
