Windowbox Kits

(For Block Associations and Neighborhood Organizations in Brooklyn)

Windowboxes are a great way to make your block greener and more colorful! Purchase windowbox kits individually or recruit neighbors to buy kits as a group. Our windowbox kits take the guesswork out of gardening—we provide all the supplies needed to create a beautiful plant display. Cost is $20 per kit.

Kits must be pre-ordered with payment enclosed by Friday, April 25, 2008. Limited number available; first come, first served. Make check payable to Brooklyn Botanic Garden and send order form below with check to:

Each Windowbox Kit includes:

  1. Windowbox (plastic, terra-cotta color; 30" long, 6.5" high) and tray (8" wide).
  2. Plants: Choose for shady or sunny location—each includes a mix of fun, new varieties and old-time favorites. SUNNY=at least five hours of sun; SHADY=less than five hours.
  3. Bag of soil.
  4. Instruction sheet for planting and care.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Kits must be picked up at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden service gate at 1010 Washington Avenue, on Saturday, May 17, 2008, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. For more information, please call 718-623-7209.
