Tips and Guidelines for Festival Attendees

The Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the most popular public events of the year at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

  1. The event is held RAIN or SHINE with indoor locations in the event of rain.
  2. Come early, the festival starts at 10 a.m.
  3. Click here to find out what cherry trees are in bloom.
  4. The garden is easily accessible by public transportation. The subways stops are adjacent to Garden entrances.
  5. In addition to the three regular entrance gates, three additional entrances will be open: Rose Arc Gate, Service Gate, and the North Washington Gate.
  6. A menu of Japanese food is offered under the tent in Cherry Esplanade and an American menu is served at the Terrace Cafe, adjacent to the Steinhardt Conservatory. Picnicking is not allowed in the garden.
  7. Enjoy sitting on the grass at Cherry Esplanade. Please note that folding chairs and blankets are not allowed.
