George Olson

George Olson focuses on the grasses and wildflowers of the North American prairie, an interest that evolved from his earlier landscape drawings and paintings. His work has been widely exhibited in the U.S. and England, including the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, in Pittsburgh; Brooklyn Botanic Garden; Weisman Art Center, in Minneapolis; and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford University. He has had more than 35 solo shows, including one at the British Museum, and his work has appeared in numerous books and magazines. His most recent book is The Elemental Prairie: Sixty Tallgrass Plants, published in 2005.
