In 1910, Stuart Gager, the Garden's visionary first director, created a revolutionary new model for a botanic garden-one that furthered the scientific study of plants and the environment, but also welcomed and embraced the community. Gager Society members hold a place of high honor in the life of BBG by continuing Gager's legacy and sustaining the Garden's acclaimed and wide reaching programs in education, research, and community greening through annual donations.
