The arrowhead-shaped foliage of this Alocasia species is truly eye-catching, with undulating edges and striking raised veins. Like medieval spears, the slender, dull green to purple leaves stand upright at attention, showing regal burgundy undersides. Fast growing, this plant takes a 9- to 10-inch pot indoors and likes full light but can also tolerate partial shade. Keep the soil aerated by mixing in bark, perlite, and coir.
