P08. Phlox maculata 'Flower Power'
Meadow phlox (cultivar)

Phlox maculata

Hardiness: USDA Zones 5–8
Full sun–partial shade
Average soil
Native plant
3–3½ feet tall

Inject a little "flower power" in a sunny border by lining it with this meadow phlox cultivar from the esteemed British nursery Blooms of Bressingham. Reaching up to 3½ feet tall without needing staking, 'Flower Power' never fails to deliver long panicles of sprightly white flowers speckled with light pink; in July and August, you'll certainly be cutting these for arrangements. Extremely resistant to powdery mildew, the usual bane of meadow phlox, 'Flower Power' takes full sun to partial shade and does best in well-drained, humus-rich soil.
