2013 President’s Circle Trip
Two enchanting locales among the sprawling green hills of New Jersey horse country beguiled guests on this year’s President’s Circle trip. The first stop was the lush and romantic property of Andrea Filippone. Guests enjoyed a personal tour through her home, created from four old barns, and strolled the enthralling gardens of the estate. After admiring Andrea’s landscape design and magical aesthetic for architectural salvage, everyone enjoyed a luncheon amid the artifacts and artistry of her horticultural haven. In the afternoon, guests were charmed by the rare and fragile species lining the rocks and trails of the Leonard J. Buck Rock Garden. Designed in the 1930s using natural and man-made rock outcroppings to accommodate a variety of habitat conditions, the 33-acre garden has matured to a breathtaking naturalistic array of alpine and woodland plant communities that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
