Last Saturday, BBG celebrated its 100th birthday with a Bee-Day party that highlighted the importance of bees in our world with honey tastings, lectures, presentations, tours, and live music throughout the Garden. The day culminated with an old-school concert on Cherry Esplanade featuring Brooklyn natives the Persuasions, as well as the Sweet Divines and legendary soul singer Maxine Brown.
It was a beautiful day to be in the Garden and definitely a party worthy of 100 years of community service and growth. BBG will continue to celebrate its centennial all summer long with special tours, events, and a Garden-wide exhibition highlighting the history of BBG.
