Photos from Ghouls & Gourds

BBG’s annual offbeat, eclectic Halloween celebration drew over 9,000 visitors to the Garden this past Sunday, where kids of all ages showed off their costume couture, moved to musical mayhem, and savored the unseasonably warm sunny day. All along Cherry Esplanade kids flocked to workshops where they experimented with projects like dyeing and spinning wool, making monsters out of recycled fabric scraps, and crafting cards out of leaves. In popular collaborative art projects kids worked together to create a towering pumpkin sculpture and craft a colorful mandala from recycled materials. Over 20 authors read from their books and met their young fans in the book barn, while musical performers keep the energy up with a variety of family-friendly beats from two stages. The day culminated with an uproarious costume parade led by a drum corps and giant stilt dancers.
