The Skin of Trees: An Intimate View of Bark

This summer, the Steinhardt Conservatory Gallery is proud to present the renowned work of French photographer Cédric Pollet. Using a macro lens, 35mm camera, and natural lighting, Pollet has traveled across the world to photograph intimate views of bark from many species of trees. This exhibit will expose in detail the vast difference in natural color intensity, shape, and texture that exist in tree bark as well as provide characteristic traits and informational background of each tree represented. This show will open with a reception for the artist on June 3, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the lower level of the Steinhardt Conservatory.
