BBG Holiday Display: Winter Plants of Interest

Saturday, December 6, 2008–Sunday, February 1, 2009

Revel in a gorgeous indoor exhibition inspired by the classic and romantic gardens of the American South, put together by the expert horticulture staff at Brooklyn Botanic Garden!

The holiday display brings the definition of horticulture—the art and science of plants—to life. In the Steinhardt Conservatory, explore a captivating walk-through plant display based on the courtyard gardens of Savannah, Georgia, featuring live Spanish moss, philodendrons, and fan palms. An exciting palette of potted plants includes purple phormiums, coconut palms, and crinum lilies, which provide a dazzling addition to the more traditional poinsettia and amaryllis.

The Conservatory Gallery features an exhibit of historic botanical prints of conifers, evergreens, and holiday houseplants, along with a collection of unique and interesting handmade wreaths. Plus, take a look at BBG's own cone collection and a selection of the Garden's rare botanical books.
