Continuing Education Classes | Art Classes

5 Thursdays: October 1–29, 2026 | 12–4 p.m.
Preregistration Required

Paint the fall color of the Garden plein air when weather permits, using soft pastels, an opaque medium with the saturated color of oil paint. Deepen your understanding of color theory by mixing the range of autumn earth colors without using browns and grays. This class is taught studio-style, with one-to-one instruction, and each session ends with a group critique to share work and discuss ideas and goals. Natural elements from the BBG Education Greenhouses and other will be provided for still life set ups in the classroom on rainy days. Some prior art experience with any medium or subject is recommended.
