This hands-on, two-session course introduces students to the ethics and practical skills of collecting wild seed in New York City landscapes. Through classroom lecture and a field trip, participants will learn how to identify when seeds are ready for harvest, assess plant populations for responsible collection, and understand seasonal patterns of seed availability. The course emphasizes observation, stewardship, and practical techniques for gardeners and anyone interested in working more closely with urban plant communities.
