Ginkgo Allée

Nestled to the east of the Overlook is a mature allée of Ginkgo biloba, easily recognizable by their striking, fan-shaped leaves. A symbol of the past and present, the ginkgo, also known as the maidenhair tree, is both a “living fossil” and a common New York City street tree. In late fall, most of the leaves will drop in unison, carpeting the allée in bright yellow foliage that makes for a stunning display.
