Preregistration Required

Visitors with disabilities and their families can explore and play in the Discovery Garden alongside trained volunteer Discovery Docents. Explore the garden at your own pace and participate in multisensory activities.

Hands-on exhibits feature sound, visual, and tactile elements designed for accessibility. Help plant, harvest, and compost; touch and smell plants; create a craft using natural materials; and pot up a plant to take home!

Know Before You Go

  • A visual schedule and details about transportation, entry, and what to expect will be sent out in advance to registered families.
  • Accessible bathrooms and wheelchairs are available at the Flatbush Avenue entrance. Inside the nearby Discovery Garden, pathways and exhibits are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs.
  • Snacking is permitted, and a quiet seating area will be available during the event.
  • Families are encouraged to bring a friend with or without disabilities; include them in your RSVP.
  • ASL interpreters are available with request at least two weeks in advance; requests made less than two weeks before this event cannot be guaranteed.

We invite your feedback as we strive to make the Garden engaging for families who have children with disabilities.
