About Brooklyn Botanic Garden

About Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) connects people to the wonder and power of plants, sparking delight and curiosity about science, culture, and our environment to help create a greener and more sustainable city and world.

BBG encourages all of its visitors to imagine a greener future. A thriving green space and cultural nexus, Brooklyn Botanic Garden integrates science and plant education, sustainable practices, arts and cultural programming, civic engagement, and the many health and wellness benefits of nature to grow a future where plants, people, and our planet flourish together. Through time spent with the Garden, Brooklyn residents become environmental stewards who take on climate action in their very own neighborhoods; children mature into the next generation of green leaders; artists illuminate new connections between nature and humanity; and so much more.

In a typical year, the Garden welcomes more than 850,000 visitors, nearly 30% of whom access it free of charge through Community Tickets, winter free admission, free entry for children under 12, education and community group visits, and partnerships such as the public library Culture Pass program.
