A life-affirming meditation on the impermanence of nature. Featuring original improvisations and music from the Grammy Award-winning album Evergreen by Caroline Shaw.

Bring a mat or towel, find a spot on the grass of Cherry Esplanade, lie back, and soak up the multisensory experience.

Visitor Information

  • Advance tickets required. This is a contemplative event for ages 14 and up.
  • Enter at 990 Washington Avenue. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The event takes place on Cherry Esplanade and other areas of the Garden are closed. There is no reentry.
  • Please bring a yoga mat or towel of similar size. It is best to experience the soundbath lying down for the entirety of the event. There will be a small section reserved for wheelchairs and people who require a seat.
  • Please observe all Garden rules, including:
    • Do not lean on or hang objects from trees.
    • No outside food or beverages. (Baby bottles and pocket snacks for individuals with dietary restrictions are allowed.)
    • Please properly dispose of your trash and do not pour liquids or ice on the lawn.

About the Artists

Two-time Grammy winners Attacca Quartet are one of the most dynamic and versatile ensembles performing today. Their acclaimed albums include Orange and Evergreen with Caroline Shaw, earning Grammy Awards in 2020 and 2023.

They’ve performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Wigmore Hall, and Ojai Festival, and have collaborated with artists from Billie Eilish to TokiMONSTA. In the 2025–26 season, they appear with San Francisco Performances, the Phillips Collection, and other top U.S. presenters. They also feature on the soundtracks for Leonardo da Vinci (Ken Burns) and We Grown Now.

Formed at Juilliard and launched with a Carnegie debut in 2003, Attacca has won top prizes at the Osaka, Coleman, and Melbourne competitions. Committed to education and innovation, the quartet engages audiences across generations and genres.
