Wild Edible and Medicinal Plants of the Northeast

November 8

Join us in the Auditorium for this free talk by gardener and author Leda Meredith, hosted by the Torrey Botanical Society.

The Northeast is rich in wild edible and medicinal plants, including both native species and introduced species that have naturalized here. The knowledge of which wild plants are not only safe to eat but delicious and nutrition-packed connects people to the natural landscape in a tangible and direct way, even in the midst of the city. This talk will cover some of the most widespread and useful wild edible and medicinal plants in our region, and include information on how foraging fits in to a sustainable 21st century food system.

No registration necessary. Please use the entrance at 1000 Washington Avenue.
