Landon Newton

Landon Newton is a social practice artist working across sculpture, installation, and ecological site-based projects. Her work examines care, maintenance, and multispecies relations through gardens and plant-based systems. She has exhibited internationally, including at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Frieze New York, and the Queens Museum. Notable awards and residencies include the Puffin Foundation, Ucross Foundation, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and the Socrates Annual Fellowship. Newton has lectured and led workshops at Cornell University, Barnard College, Stetson University, the New York Center for Architecture, and Bard College. She is the founder of Ruta Rhus, an ecological garden design studio specializing in consultation, installation, and maintenance.
