Garden Circle members are invited to join Kathy Crosby, BBG’s librarian and curator of the Garden’s latest exhibit, for an illuminating conversation about Eva Melady’s Birds.

Eva Melady was the special instructor in watercolor flower painting at Brooklyn Botanic Garden from 1955 to 1981. This exhibit features Melady’s commissioned paintings of birds commonly found at the Garden along with related works by BBG Florilegium Society artists including Francesca Anderson and Judith Kunhardt. Through looking at the work of women at the intersection of art and science, the exhibit probes the past of natural history illustration and considers the roles of women in the field.

Space is limited; be sure to RSVP below to save your spot. Contact [email protected] with any questions.
